ATTENTION TEXAS NOTARIES

Effective January 1, 2026, the State of Texas requires all notary applicants—both new and renewing—to complete and pass a Notary Education course through the Secretary of State (SOS) portal prior to applying for or renewing a notary commission.

1. To take the course you will need to login or create an account on the SOS portal, and on the left side click on Notary Education tab.
2. You will have to pay the $20.71 fee on the states site and then click on “click here to start the Notary Education Course”
3. After completing the course you will receive a confirmation email informing you if you have passed or failed the education requirement.

Only after you have passed the course you can order the bond online.
